Bichel got dropped after the World Cup, even though they would have been eliminated if they got beat by England. Bich and Bevo put on a big partnership to win the game when the top order failed. You may remember Bich also took 7 wkts that game. Ponting and Buck have always had favourites which is why we had to regain the Ashes instead of regaining them. The 05' Ashes was a classic example when Hussey & MacGill didn't get a game. Now we have Clark getting dropped for Tait and Hilfy not getting a game when he did well in his limited appearances, certainly better than Watson has done in the last 5 games. Let's look at his bowling in the last few games. 2-88 in Game 3, 3-58 in Gm2, 0-28 off 4 in Game 1.Average 7.25 rpo. He gave up vital 4's to Collingwood in Final # 1 of the CBA series. Someone should tell him not to bowl half volleys at the end of an innings. Hilfy and S.Clark are much better bowlers. So if we agree he cannot and should not bowl, are there better batsman in the country than him ? Absolutely. Then why is he being picked ??? Watson does not deserve to be in the team.
