The Aussie Haka

The Roar reader Sheek pointed us in the direction of this — the Aussie response to the New Zealand haka. Somehow it doesn’t quite have the same … ummm … ring to it.

So the strategy is we contrive a Haka because the All Blacks have one? Do we ship in their Moari culture as well? Leaders lead and definitely don’t follow. NZ is a great rugby nation and so are we. yet for us to grow we have to develop our own traditions. Having to pinch those of other countries just shows we have nothing left in ideas tank. What a sad sad idea.

wasn’t this from Sunrise before the 2003 WC - if I remember correctly they had a competition to see who could send in the best Haka parody.

And Alex Dunnin needs to grow a sense of humour.
