Ross Andrews writes: What a joke the NSW Rugby Union must be. They send a side into the Super 14 without a backs coach and look at the abysmal style the Waratahs put forward this year – the backline had no idea on structure and lines to run and the result was shown accordingly.
The constant changing of halves that has continued for years continued again in season 2007. The result was 3 wins all season and the CEO gets sacked because the crowds were down and he couldn’t balance the budget. WOW this is a rocket science decision.
What about the coach and the game plans and his many underachieving players? Maybe the board need to have a good look at themselves or are they koalas (or protected species)? It would appear David Lyons must be by getting again getting picked for the Wallabies. Surely some statistician who does the tackle counts etc could tell the selectors. The selectors mustn’t watch the work rate or players such as George Smith, Stephen Hoiles, Scott Fava, David Croft etc would get the nod.
