God Defend the All Blacks
The question needs to be asked: does this reworked New Zealand national anthem as shown in this video - which invokes the greats of Kiwi politics, culture and rugby - give the All Blacks the edge at the 2007 World Cup?

Fair warms the cockles of an ex-pats heart. Some grand old faces in there - the Wizard of Chch (the worlds only officially recognised “Living Work of Art”), Murray Ball - the man who penned Footrot Flats which in turn inspired the sond “Slice of heaven”, Robert “Piggy” Muldoon and his nemesis David Lange, both ex-PMs and men of great wit, huge ideas and (unfortunately) politics, Kiri Tikanawa who put NZ on the world Opera stage, and the list goes on.
But, despite that, I’m not sure it will give the edge. Perhaps it will rather encourage a more emphatic Haka….

I doubt that will give them any edge whatsoever. At most it’s a clever reworking of lyrics to entertain Kiwi fans heading into the RWC.
Speaking of songs giving rugby sides an edge - let’s hope fans are allowed to sing Swing Low Sweet Chariot this year!

Anything would be better than having to hear “Slice of Heaven” over the PA every time you watch a match played in NZ.
Is the NZ songwriting industry in such bad shape that they have to keep referring back to Dave Dobbyn…surely Neil Finn has penned something better since!
By the way…nice touch by the powers that be at Eden Park playing “Take the Weather With You” during the downpour at last weeks Bledisloe match…

When are they going to take the blame for unleashing Russell Crowe on the world?

That is all class - very tongue in cheek. Thanks for posting!
