There are some great quotes coming from the Rugby World Cup press conferences. Here are a few from the Aussie contingent:

“Australia. We win every second world cup. It’s our turn.”
- Former Wallaby captain John Eales (AUS) on who will win the IRB Rugby World Cup.

“I think for the squad you want Berrick to go well. If Berrick’s going well then the team’s performing well. Obviously, you don’t want Stephen (Larkham) to get injured – although he does look like he’s about 40 at the moment, he’ll start to come good come the finals hopefully if we’re there.”
- Matt Giteau (AUS) on whether he is hoping Berrick Barnes (AUS) plays well at fly half so he does not have to be the back-up to Stephen Larkham (AUS).

“No, no, no, not at all. I wasn’t that lairy. He’s a bit of a show-off that kid.”
- Giteau (AUS) again on whether he sees anything of himself as a younger player in Berrick Barnes.

“They’re in fine fettle. They haven’t played rugby, so you’d want them to be.”
- Assistant backs coach Scott Johnson (AUS) on how the team is shaping up.
