Another injury scare: Berrick Barnes finished training early due to a possible leg injury.

It’s nothing major at all. Just totally precautionary. He did a fair bit of walking yesterday on his day off so maybe that caused it.

Dr Martin Raftery, team doctor for the Wallabies, said the following on Barnes finishing training early because of quad muscle tightness in his right leg:

It’s nothing major at all. Just totally precautionary. He did a fair bit of walking yesterday on his day off so maybe that caused it.

On whether fly half Stephen Larkham (AUS) could come back in the pool game against Canada:

No. His injury’s so good that he probably could play there but by taking it slowly we don’t risk anything abnormal happening. If it was a world cup final he’d play this weekend – that’s how good it is.

The goal is to have him training fully probably from the Friday prior to the quarter finals, so that gives him just over a week for full training.

On whether Adam Ashley-Cooper (AUS) (injured toe) will be fit for selection against Fiji:

He came through alright today (Tuesday). I wouldn’t say he’s past the post yet but he’s definitely progressing. I think after tomorrow’s (Wednesday’s) session we’ll have more of an idea.
