Sam Stoffelen writes: It only seems like yesterday when Jason Gillespie rode his bat like a horse on the way to a rare test half century after an enthralling partnership with Glenn McGrath, but who would have thought he’d come this far with a ton against Tasmania over the weekend.
A double century against Bangladesh was the first stop in some unbelievable cameos for the man who made his name as a bowler. He was once a frustrating batsman to watch, who endlessly faced numbers of deliveries almost without scoring. He’s still no Adam Gilchrist in regards to runs to balls ratio, but with shots other than a defensive push providing runs, the South Australian batting list now will be notably longer.
Even with these impressive results, the selectors have hardly shed light on the subject of a Gillespie comeback. It wouldn’t surprise me if one day Gillespie docked the “baggy” because of his batting, so if the selectors continue ignoring his success it will be them that we should associate the nickname “Dizzy” with, because their the ones not seeing straight.

I agree Dizzy is a great cricketer and deserves to have another shot at the test team
