Hall denies reports he is considering suing

Sydney spearhead Barry Hall has flatly denied a newspaper report yesterday that claimed he was considering suing the AFL over the broken wrist he suffered in the round four match against West Coast.

Hall crashed through an advertising sign at ANZ Stadium in the final quarter against the Eagles and into a guard railing, breaking his right wrist.

It occurred in the same game that Hall punched West Coast defender Brent Staker and earned himself a seven-game suspension.

The injury is believed to be worse than first thought and involves nerve damage and could leave Hall on the sideline after his suspension has ended.

The league and the stadium operators have since completed a study into the fence and ordered padding be installed, but Hall has categorically denied a News Limited report that he was thinking about suing for damages over the matter.

“I haven’t spoken to anybody about it. If the club was going to do something about it I would’ve thought they would let me know,” Hall said today following Sydney’s 18-point loss to the Western Bulldogs at the SCG.

“So the club’s not doing anything about it so as far as I’m concerned, it was just totally out of order what was said.

“I’m not contemplating it and haven’t even thought about it. What was said in the paper was wrong.”
