McGuire, Arocca have on-air spat over jumpers

The always-emotive AFL issue of clash jumpers has prompted a heated on-air debate between Collingwood president Eddie McGuire and North Melbourne chief executive Eugene Arocca.

The entire thing is a farce, and it shows that the AFL is still willing to let Collingwood bully the rest of the league. It’s really simple: unless Collingwood wear a jumper that doesn’t clash with North’s, they should forfeit their rights to any premiership points in the match. Anything less than that is a pathetic caving in to the bullying of McGuire and co. I like Eddie, but his sense of entitlement in this area is arrogant to say the least.

    Yep –

it’s Collingwood being fair track bullies – they know North can’t afford to run the risk of a $100K fine.

And, for Eddie to say they support the extra funding to North – - well, if they didn’t, then they might have to relinquish Anzac day to the general pool – - or to give up a few of their cushy Friday night games – - – as, North Melb were required to do after pioneering Friday night in the VFL/AFL when no one else wanted to go near night footy regularly for premiership points.

However – - out of all this, I actually prefer our ‘heritage’ jumper, the royal blue with the white V. I reckon it looks great.
