Guy.....didn't watch the match, so I was not subjected to Mad Murray's commentary...but I fully agree with your sentiments on him....sometimes I wish someone would tackle him....

Murray Mexted's commentary once again proves what a spiteful, small-minded bad winner he can be. The ABs deserved their win and deserved it by more but once again we were subjected to Mexted's moronic brand of chatter, berating Ireland for the limited nature of their play. Ireland naturally play that way and also they're really not very good. This really shouldn't have surprised him but he couldn't hide his frustration at those damned men in green defending so well and preventing his beloved ABs from clocking up a cricket score. He is the poster boy for small country-chip on the shoulder-angry little brother-inferiortity complex syndrome.

The ELVs are not a panacea. Nor will they do anything about the Wellington weather.

Stats available on the Rugbyheaven website reveal that there were 14 scrums, 28 lineouts and nineteen penalties in the match. They were split fairly evenly down the middle: 10 to NZ, 9 to Ireland.

Mind you the same stats page describes the weather as "Fine" and the surface as "Fair"!!!

What's a wet day in Wellington like??????

It's hilarious that two forms of rules are allowed to float around the world right now in rugby

That game was a good advertisement for the ELVs. I know it was played in horrendous conditions (and that some aspects of the game went well), but the number of penalties for ruck infringements was horrendous! It really killed any flow the game could have had. My favourite part of the ELVs has been getting rid of all the penalties and that game reminded me why.
