Former West Coast skipper Ben Cousins arrived in Melbourne today as he prepares to take the first step towards reviving his stalled football career.
The 30-year-old former Brownlow Medallist signed with VFL club Port Melbourne late last month and is expected to soon start training with them.
However, Cousins’ manager Ricky Nixon said earlier this week it was uncertain whether he would play for the club this season.
The 238-game AFL premiership veteran is also yet to state whether he will pursue an AFL comeback next year.
Cousins was last year sacked by West Coast and suspended by the AFL for 12 months for bringing the game into disrepute amid his battle with drug addiction.
To make an AFL comeback, he would need to satisfy the AFL Commission that he has overcome the drug-related issues that led to his ban.

Jim Beam Devil's Cut
As bourbon ages, a portion of liquid is lost from the barrel due to evaporation. This is known as the Angel's Share. When the bourbon is taken from the barrel, a certain amount is left trapped within the wood. It's that extracted liquid, and the rich flavours from deep within the barrel that are in Jim Beam's Devil's Cut.
