NM v PA 22,000 at the MCG and that includes a couple of thousand PA supporters plus some MCG members looking for a day out.. Ground looked embarrassingly empty. Where were the 34,000 ??? members. Where have they been all season? NM were playing for 4th spot on the ladder with celebrations for Grants 300th game and what a poor turnout. Must have realised what the result was going to be
The 34,000 members looks increasingly like a hopeful figure plucked from the sky. Interesting to see if all the donations come in again next year when NM again claim to be in danger of having to relocate…boy crying wolf comes to mind
MV will again be the 8th biggest club in Melb this year and maybe challenging for 7th (only Coll, Ess, Rich, Haw, Gee,Carl clearly ahead).
Dont worry MC NM will be fine but you shouldn’t bring up comparisons with MV too often

I’m disappointed. Surely with my rich history of following AFL (actually VFL) and football l also should have been mentioned along with Pippinu as a potential unbiased author. Support of Melb Victory, Man U and Essendon (OK support has lapsed a little lately) gives me those credentials surely I did sleep overnight on the concrete outside Windy Hill for finals tickets once!

Only Pippinu is in a postion to write such a piece, he has an affinity for both games as a player and as a fan.

Besides do we really need yet another long and boring thread filled with insults and vitriol when clearly AFL (Australian football) is far superior to futbol (soccer).

You may want to read the second edition (best seller) of the Late Johnny Warren’s Book as well .. I shall be buying Johnny’s book.. (biography)
