For tonight’s game between CCM and the Jets: we saw high studs on a keeper; an elbow to the head of a player who had just headed the ball; plenty of dissent; and a terrible tackle from behind on a player with a goal scoring opportunity - all of these incidents were the equivalent of or even worse than any of the four red cards Melbourne have received of late, but what did Breeze do - he did nothing, that’s right, nothing - all of these incidents were allowed to go scot free.

It’s one rule for MV, and another rule for all other clubs - hte level of bias becomes clearer each round.

I do know this, Bryan Ferry covered it in an album of covers he released around 1973, that included an excellent version of Dylans’ “Hard Rain” - perhaps the best ever Dylan cover after Jimi’s “All Along the Watchtower”.

I mention that, because around 1974, Cilla Black had her own show, and Ferry was a guest, and they both sang “It’s my Party”.

So, at a minimum, I have witnessed Cilla singing it on her own show (how I cold possibly remember that bit of trivia, I will never know, I was about 12 yearsl old - it could be that I had heard Ferry was going to be on it, and I was hanging out to hear Hard Rain, but it didn’t come to pass).

Carlos deserved to be red carded after Tiatto hacked away at him for the previous 55 minutes.

Tiatto definitely earned his free for intentionally elbowing Vargas to the neck, and the FFA was 100% correct in exonerating him, and sending him off with a pat on the back.

It’s appropriate that we never heard boo about that on any media outlet apart from one brief mention on Fox FC. The FFA is definitely the most accountable and transparent sporting organisation we have ever come across.

In light of all this, it was definitely appropriate that the FFA tried to increase Fabiano’s penalty from 6 to 9 weeks, despite the fact that by all accounts, the ref’s evidence was as flimsy as all hell.

Breeze and Williams have not displayed any incosistency in their rulings all season, and it is entirely appropriate that they have been quick to go for the red card in all MV games (against MV specifically).

The charges of aspiration; toe stubbing; getting hacked by Tiatto; and cussing have all been rightly proven, and amount to the most heinous crimes the A-League has ever had the displeasure of experiencing in its illustrious history. It is by a miracle that we have not yet witnessed a broken bone! (to MV’s offending playmakers that is)

Apart from SackWhackGate, which everyone seems to think is irrelevant (but which actually has a central place in everything that has since come to pass), I think that pretty much covers it.

However I’ll also add that a sack wack doesn’t = yellow card is the standard. If anyone tries that rubbish again they will be red carded.

However the standard that came out of the sack whack is that if the referee gives a yellow card to an offence, then there is nothing FFA can do to change it no matter how severe the offence is. This is a pretty horrible standard (as in England they do punish players like Ben Thatcher for yellow card offence) but they have been quite consistent with it.

This is why people like Muscat got away with his stomp on Agostino as the referee has determine that to be a yellow card offence. Quite unfair but quite consistent of the precedent set by Griffiths.

Pippinu I think you are basing the whole argument of conspiracy based on Tiatto not getting sent off. I admit it’s a bit dubious and question has to be ask. One unexplain incident is a pretty flimsy reason to base a conspiracy over. If there were many similar offence to those MV send off that hasn’t been punish I may be more open to what you are saying but what you have is ONE player getting away from an offence.

In anyone should be shouting conspiracy it is D’apuzzo who got ping for handball and was given a red card in post match review. MV has all been dealt on the field so I don’t see any comparable link to Tiatto.

Just try finding any top league in Europe, in the last 30 years, where one team has received four reds out of 5 games - it simply doesn’t happen - so much more is at play here than poor discipline and a bit of bad luck.

The sack wack was an error by the ref. The FFA rightly or wrongly at that time felt they couldn’t review the decision. They then put a system in place to address it going forward. If it occurred tomorrow it would get a different outcome. All of the MV send offs have been made by the ref. The only standard the FFA has set in reviewing these decisions is that they will not overturn a ref’s decision unless a manifest error has occurred.

Most posters agree Tiatto deserved some treatment from the review panel. The failure to do so is not evidence of an anti MV conspiracy (what possible detriment did MV suffer from the review panel’s failure to suspend him.)

4 of the 5 incidents (excl Hernandez) you have referenced are all players acting unprofessionally as a result of some form of frustration. MV are not a dirty side its just some of their players have been unprofessional.

This is all part of the argument that I am mounting - they may have been mistakes - but they were reinforced by the FFA as a result of post-match reviews! So they represent a standard!

The refs and the FFA have set the following standard:

1. A hit in the nether regions of an official is worth only a yellow card, and no more.
2. To leap forcefully at an opponent with elbow raised to the head, is not only acceptable, it earns you a free kick (and the applause from the FFA to boot).

We now find that MV has received 4 reds in 5 games, an extraordinary record, and I’d say the likes of which you would never have seen in the last 30 years in the top leagues in Europe.

We look through the 4 red cards, and note the following:
1. all four are well within the standard already set by the FFA above (remember that the FFA was involved in both of the above anomalies);
2. none of the four involved a violent act, anyone being taken off injured, or anything like that, not even close;
3. this extremely high rate of reds (extreme, I reiterate) would indicate that we would expect to see something unusual about the manner in which MV goes about its game - but in fact they have the lowest yellow and foul count in the whole league; and
4. if there is one team that should be complaining about its play makers being hacked to death, it’s Melbourne, yet they are the ones who have been copping the reds!

So:
1. it’s all arse about; and
2. clearly, MV is subject to a different standard as applies to other clubs.

I don’t really see how relevant yellow and fouls are. It just shows that other sides are creating more fouls but are not crossing the line to the red territory.

I don’t necesarily think Melbourne Victory as a particularly dirty side. At the very least no worse then other sides of the a-league. However it seems to me that their players are just prone to the odd brain explosion and commit really stupid red card offence that other sides are not making (with the exception of Tiatto and Griffiths)
