Folkes turns to cricket

Ex-Bulldogs rugby league coach Steve Folkes has swapped sports by becoming the West Indian cricket team’s strength and conditioning coach.

News Limited is reporting the NRL premiership winning coach will be in charge of the fitness regime of the Caribbean team until at least May.

Folkes exited the Bulldogs, where he made his name as a player, this year following a decade-long reign at the club.

He made the decision to change sports as there were no coaching gigs on offer in the NRL or Super League.

Former Australian opener and current West Indian coach John Dyson is friends with Folkes.
