Veteran NBL player Tony Ronaldson surpassed Andrew Gaze’s record for games played when his Breakers team defeated the Townsville Crocodiles on Saturday night.
He celebrated his 613th game with sixteen points in another solid performance by the New Zealand line up.
Debuting for Eastside Melbourne, he’s currently in his second season with the Breakers, helping them to their first ever playoffs last season.
In 20 NBL seasons, he’s missed only fifteen games due to injury, and has played 324 consecutive games.
He’s appeared in seven grand finals, including two Championship winning teams, has racked up an NBL record of over 400 career victories, and played in 81 playoff games, another NBL record.
Not a bad effort by any sportsperson at such a demanding level.

And lets face it ‘The Bear” isnt what we would call a prototypical athlete either!
Still, even though he is a big, he spent alot of time earlier in his career hiding on the perimeter. Geez he can knock down a triple though, just ask Dino Radja and Croatia.
Well done Tony!
