West Coast ask punters to believe again
In the aftermath of their worst season ever, the West Coast Eagles have launched a marketing campaign designed to reinstate the public’s trust in their battered reputation.
Following the off-field disciplinary issues with multiple players from their former captain Ben Cousins to their 2008 recruit, Chris Masten, the Eagles are now seeking the viewing public to ‘believe’ in their team again.
While most pundits and sporting agencies expect the Eagles to finish in the bottom four again, the advertisement campaign predicts success for the proud club.
The television media features Adam Selwood, who recently revealed that he has a special clause in his contract which would allow him to leave if any further off field misdemenours occured.
It also involves the use of the club’s premier sponsor, Hungry Jacks, which has embroiled the club in recent issues with Healthway speaking out against a sporting club being sponsored by a fast food company.

The Eagles will be fine – The club despite its past problems has a rock solid supporter base – The membership waiting list is as long as ever.
The only clouds on the horizon are reduced income for the club and Coach John Worsfolds future. Previously thought untouchable Woosha will be under increasing pressure. If by mid season and no improvement from 15th position the scrutiny will increase. (His contract expires this season along with 6 other AFL coaches)
If you lived in Perth your singling out of the two negative points would be irrelevant.

Westcoast929406,
How far away is Nick Naitanui from playing? Will he be there first round? (dreamteam question)

Marked,
Candidate for mark of the year at some point in his first 2 seasons. Hopefully his football smarts have improved if they have he will be a player likely to bring in big crowds.

To answer the question about Nick Natanui
Here are comments we found on the forums. He may make an appearance later on in the season I think. The club will nurse him along.
Quote—
The only really big concerns are that he was injured and so has missed some training and that he does not have enough “footy smarts” to play the game. Well, he apparently will begin full training before the season starts so with a few WAFL games in the first few rounds and at full training for a month I believe he could debut around round 4. And as for footy smarts what better way to learn?”
