The Wests Tigers have once again engineered an impressive attacking victory on the back of the phenomenal skills of dynamic hooker Robbie Farah.
The Lebanese born maestro combined brilliantly with halfback Benji Marshall to spearhead a rampant offence, scoring a try and laying on another against the Sydney Roosters at the SFS on Friday night.
The Roosters, who started the match in fine style with two well-constructed tries, ultimately succumbed to the overwhelming attacking flare of the Tigers, who towards the end of the match began to make the chookâs line look more like Swiss cheese.
With timely scurries from dummy half, deft passes close to the ruck and a precision kicking game, Farah was a perennial thorn in the side of the Roosters from the time he ran onto the paddock.
In the modern game, the hooker position has evolved to become a key role for creative attack, now often referred to as the second halfback. Robbie Farrah is the embodiment of that metamorphosis.
He has as many tricks in his bag as any half in the NRL, not to mention he tackles as hard as a tractor engine.
With the departure of Danny Buderus to England, there appears to be only one man destined to fill the void in the NSW State of Origin side.
This will surely be the year that sees the classy number nine finally take his deserved spot on the representative stage.

Too true Adam, if there is a bigger mortal lock in the NRL this season than Robbie and that blue jumper, I’m yet to see it. For all the talk of Marshall and THAT pass etc., I feel it was Robbie’s creativity around the ruck and control of the tempo in that second half that ultimately laid on the win. Just a phenomenal player, a pleasure to support, much like the team…..on their good days!

i have been saying for the last 2 or 3 years danny b should be removed and farrah to replace him for the blues, form players should get the job in the top of the nrls game.its a bit of an insult to players that put there bodys on the line and not get rewarded for good form and robbie has been up for it for a while, and danny b has been out of form for at least two years, not to say he is crap but 20 mins of brilliance isnt enough in a 80 min game,i think robbie being younger and more dominant in his position that the job should go to him.

Could not agree more. Two years ago when the Blues picked a milk toothed rookie at 7 I thought they would have been better picking Farah at 7 and playing two dummy halves and having Anasta do all the ball playing at 6.
Farah is a superb talent and I think a better player than Cam Smith. He will revel at Origin if given a chance.
