Clark mops up tail

Stuart Clark has mopped up the tail as the England Lions first innings ended on 352 – just six runs short of Australia’s total.

All-rounder Adil Rashid (66) frustrated the tourists under grey skies by adding another 30 to his overnight score after the side resumed at 6-302.

The Lions added 13 runs before Tim Bresnan (5) inside-edged a Mitchell Johnson (1-118) delivery back onto his leg stump.

Sajid Mahmood (0) entered and only lasted two balls before a short-pitched Brett Lee (6-76) delivery struck his shoulder, lobbed into the air before landing and hitting his stumps.

Clark (2-40) claimed his first wicket with Mike Hussey taking a sharp diving catch to his left at gully to remove Rashid.

Lee should have had his seventh wicket but wicketkeeper Brad Haddin dropped Steve Harmison (7no) before Clark ended the innings by claiming Graham Onions’ scalp.
