Where’s the free to air deal NBL? Another great stuff for the new NBL. Netball’s ANZ championship get a free to air deal with ten / one. Attendances at games are up on last year. Why because people know about the league because of the exposure a free to air deal has given them. Something the NBL should look at. Instead of telecasting matches to a select few who can afford to pay to watch matches.

Netball paid well over half a million dollars to appear on One HD. Fox pay the NBL to show games. Besides, viewership numbers for pay TV and digital channels like One are actually not that dissimilar. You’ll probably find that the “increase” in netball attendance has more to do with free tickets given away.

As a basketball fan, I’m just glad that I’ll get to see every team at least seven times! That’s a huge improvement.

While it’s great to see so much coverage for the NBL I agree with Vicki.
Where’s the free to air coverage?
The NBL needs to get back into the homes of those who can’t afford pay tv or can’t attend games.
