In the end, Melbourne had too many playmakers and a better kicking game. But it ended up a lot closer than a lot of people thought, 7 points difference. Melbourne were the better side on the day and are deserved champions. 2. It was a terrible refereeing decision, and that was a shame because Paramatta were coming home strong, but we don't know whether Parra would have scored, or whatever. The Eels left it too late to start playing proper footy, and all that refereeing decision did was rob us of an exciting finish. Which is a shame. I think we can all agree to two things:

Well deserved win for Melbourne. Actually it wasn't the only rough call, thought Cooper Cronk was pretty stiff not to win the Churchill Medal, he was outstanding all night.. true Alan, it probably the only rough call of the game, but in the end the better team won out.
