Can Wallabies and Tahs win with Kaplan?
Whilst it has been documented by that the Waratahs struggle to win games with Jonathon Kaplan as referee, can the same be said for the Wallabies? When was the last time they won with Kaplan in charge?
Kaplan was certainly at his pedantic best throughout the match, penalising both teams on a regular basis and looking to blow the life right out of the game.
The most obvious error though was the sin-binning of Wycliff Palu for a legitimate tackle on Robert Kearney. Surely the TMO or linesman, should be able to say it was a fair hit.
What really irks me though is that no mention was made of the blatant shoulder charge by Kearney on Rocky Elsom when he scored. Given that it was right in front of the referee and touch judge, and went to the TMO, surely someone could have brought it up.
Any thoughts as to win-loss record for the Wallabies, or other Australian provinces?

The main reason that Oz teams have poor records with Kaplan is that most of the games are against NZ or NZ teams.
The worst display I have seen from him was shortly after NZ arrested half the Mossad. He caned the MIB and the Dingoes won.

ARS is probably right. Kaplan being a South African means that he would ref Waratahs only when they are playing NZ or Aust teams – and generally when two Aust teams play each other they get an Aust ref rather then fly someone half-way around the world. Same goes for ABs – Aust games. May distort the statistics a little bit – things might change now that they insist on not always having neutral refs in the Super 14.
