Henry comes across as an intelligent but rather fragile and thin skinned character. He perhaps made a wrong split-second decision in not admitting to the hand ball, but so would 99.9% of footballers in this world. So I wish the Irish and the Fleet St get of their high horse and leave the man alone before it destroys him. Is there a talk FIFA might even ban him from WC ? That would be a final nail in the coffin for his career, I reckon.

If you had seen Maradona’s interview about his take on his “hand of God goal” he was not apologetic about it one iota.. He said when he was growing up as a poor kid in Argentina you learned to be cunning and push the envelope, as far as you can.. Well the world is full of cheats from politicians, to the overly paid captains of industry, with millions of undeserved dollars going into their pockets … so what..? I don’t think Henry will be too fazed about it come tomorrow, when he lines up for Barcelona against Inter Milan… It’s the referees job to spot these infringements and if they fail to officiate properly bad luck… I think Henry will be back scoring goals as per usual tomorrow…
