Would the neanderthal bogans who "appreciate" V8 racing be the type of people any football code would want in their crowds?

What I saw of the people who hooned up and down Mum's street adjacent to Olympic Park over the weekend their lifespans are going to be thankfully brief (and judging by their acne their breeding potential is poor). It is to be hoped that they don't take out some other poor bastard as they wrap their over powered poorly engineered Phawed or 'oldern around a tree or a piece street furniture.

Clearly this V8 "racing" is sporting Onanism taken to new heights. What is the point of it.? There can be no engineering development justification for it. V8s as a motive power unit are dinosaurs and the petrol driven internal combustion engine's future is problematic. The two manufacturing plants that produce these vehicles have been on government life support for years and their continuing existence is under constant review by their overseas proprietors.

Good on Team GWS for making an effort, and getting out in the community. The whole code wars thing is really getting out of hand and the media's obsession with it is growing tedious.

I thought the track was poor on paper. Turned out to be better than expected, especially considering cars could overtake. Very impressive stuff from the V8s to get this up and running. Hopefully it means more recognition for the sport. As for the code war, no denying it judging by GWS's marquee and the the AFL's bombshell today.

Track was ok. Bit too much carnage for me but the fans like it. It's huge for V8s. Hopefully they won some new fans. As for the AFL, at least they're making the effort.

Yesterdays Sunday Telegraph reported the AFL tent was a wasteland, while next door the Rabbitohs were flooded with kids chasing Souths players. This seemed to have been confirmed when I saw Sheedy interviewed yesterday on V8 coverage. Asked about how the GWS tent was going, all he wanted to do was talk about the long road ahead and we're here for the long haul.
