Efforts being made to house world cup tourists

Rugby New Zealand and the government are working together on options to help visitors for the 2011 Rugby World Cup find accommodation.
Twenty-three towns and cities will host 20 international teams during the competition.

    So which are the best places to stay out of the list above in terms of tourist value, access, transport, etc?

    Well Wanganui is a hole to be honest so I’d steer clear of there and their muddy river.
    Aside from that place most of the towns are lovely and handy, within two to three hours of one of the major centres. The advantage of the tournament for NZ is that being a small country it is only a few hours by car or a very short plane trip generally an hour or less from the major centres to most parts of NZ.
    My picks of the smaller centres would be Bay of Islands, Nelson and New Plymouth
