Former English Premier League defender Andy Todd wants to finish his career in Perth after re-signing with the Glory for a further A-League season.
But midfielder Wayne Srhoj could be on his way out with rumours linking him to new A-League franchise Melbourne Heart.
Todd, whose impressive career included stints with Bolton, Blackburn, Charlton and Derby County, has been a standout for Perth this season and is a front runner to win the club’s Most Glorious Player award.
The 35-year-old said he was happy at the Glory and even flagged the possibility of playing on for two more seasons.
“(I’ve got) one year, possibly two years (left in the body),” Todd said on Monday.
“I’m looking to finish my career out here.
“I’ve only missed two games through suspension which was my own fault but fitness wise I feel OK.
“Perth’s a great place to live, really enjoying my time here.
“I definitely have unfinished business.
“I think we slightly underachieved (after a semi-final loss to Wellington) and next season we want to definitely go one or two better.”
In a further boost for Perth, 30-year-old Scottish midfielder Steven McGarry re-signed with the club for the next two seasons.
McGarry linked up with the Glory from Scottish Premier League side Motherwell in January and added spark to Perth’s midfield.
“I’ve been really impressed with the set-up,” McGarry said.
“My wife came over for three weeks as well … she’s given up a good job back home to come and live here.”
Srhoj, who featured in 36 games for the Glory over the past two seasons, is out of contract at Perth and has been strongly linked with the Heart, who will make their A-League debut in an expanded competition next season.
Todd flew out to England on Monday but will continue to train over there before returning to Perth in May.
The hard-nosed defender said his body had easily handled life in the A-League.
