Time for an A-League Supercup

The A-League is ready to introduce a Supercup. The winner of the league the season before (home), versus the the winner of the grand final (away). If a team wins the double, then the losing grand final team would play.
It would be a great way to kick-off the season.
The game to be played one week before the official season starts. A meaningful match that should get the season off to a flyer, based on pride and revenge in some cases.
Just another opportunity for the A-League to get more exposure.
The only downside of course is, for example, if the teams playing in the Supercup finish 1st and 2nd the same year, then go on to play each other in the grand final. That’s too many games against each other.
As an example, if Sydney and Melbourne met in the Supercup, league, semi finals and grand final in the one year. That’s seven games against each other in one season.

I think instead of the supercup
Just manipulate the draw that the first game of the season will always be the winner of grand final vs winner of the league

I guess it would be viable if a FFA Cup got underway. That way you could have the champions play the Cup winners from the previous season ie like the community shield in England

It’s not a bad idea, but let’s be honest, SFC played the Victory six times in just the last six months, so I’m not sure if there is a burning need for one more match up before the season proper starts.
As Dasilva says, perhaps organise the draw for a first up game.

Theres more demand for a SoO NSW v VIC series than a super cup

Good idea, but it should be for charity. The Pink Ribbon match or some other worth charity cancer cures of kids perhaps––with all proceeds to go to charity. The charity shield match as they have in the UK––a very fitting way to start the season.
