The recent fights of Danny Green and Anthony Mundine have been a joke. It seems they are looking for easy paydays and easy fights.

Don’t get me wrong, they are both champions. However, they are past fighting Australian opponents. They need to fight better higher ranked fighters overseas.

Since Green has returned from retirement, he hasn’t fought anyone ranked, while Mundine’s last top ranked fight was against Mikkel Kessler in 2005, which he lost.

I can’t see any top ranked fighters coming to Australia. Are Green and Mundine past it?

If you want the respect of sporting public, and want to stop the criticism, then you have to fight the best. And I don’t see that happening.

Anthony Mundine is ranked sixth in the world and should be challenging fighters higher than him, such as Paul Williams and Miguel Angel Cotto; whilst Danny Green needs to step up a division in order to get some challenges.

We’ll just have to wait and see what happens next.
