Congratulations for the great victory, Australia. I think I saw the best offensive Wallabies display in a long time. But surely there are many aspects to improve on the defensive edge.
One negative aspect of the last game was the bad decision Rocky Elsom made in the 48th minute of the match, when he chose scrum rather than take the three points shot. The scrum was punished with a penalty against and allowed the Boks to score their first try.
“When you got your opponent on the ground, please knock him down, do not let him to get up.” That bad decision allowed the Boks to take confidence into the second half, and the doubts of the previous game appeared again for the Wallabies.
The good: Very good tackles from Adam, excellent movement in the last try from Berrick. Kurtley had great determination throughout the game and especially in the final kick with a lot pressure.
Beautiful Stephen’s came back, Luke’s great management from the bench, but with problems in the scrum. What was done by McCalman was acceptable, and please say something to Ben Robinson – this little titan is the most important players the Wallabies have today. He brings a lot of contribution in all aspects of the game.
I knew that Robbie Deans was moving in the right direction, and this is a moment for him and his players to enjoy after so many critical ones.
