Lance Armstrong is confident he will be “vindicated” after Sports Illustrated previewed a story this week that raised doping questions about the cycling star.

The record seven-time Tour de France champion used his popular Twitter feed on Friday to note that American anti-doping officials were apparently looking into allegations raised in the article.

“Great to hear that USADA is investigating some of SI’s claims. I look forward to being vindicated,” Armstrong posted.

Sports Illustrated will be published on January 24 but the magazine previewed some of the material on line.

Titled The Case Against Lance Armstrong, it outlined a series of allegations – some old, some not published before.

Armstrong refused to comment on the piece when questioned before stage two of the Tour Down Under on Tuesday.

The Tour is his last overseas race before he ends his cycling comeback.

Armstrong has always vehemently denied doping.
