Panthers vs Raiders: live scores, blog

It’s Penrith vs Canberra tonight, with both sides playing only for pride, as Panthers fans get one final opportunity to farewell legends Petero Civoniceva and Trent Waterhouse. We’ll have live score updates from the commencement at 7.30pm (AEST).

Both teams might be out of contention, but players from both sides have plenty to play for as contracts are sorted out for the 2012 season, particularly at Penrith, where incoming football director Phil Gould appears set to take an axe to the current playing list.

Canberra’s season has lurched from crisis to crisis, and like so many games this season, they will take to the field without star fullback Josh Dugan, this time due to a groin strain.

However, the club sits a mere one point above last place, and will be desperate to keep the wolves from the door.

A classic game might not be on the cards but the aforementioned retirements of Civoniceva and Waterhouse means there should be plenty of fire at the foot of the mountains.
