After watching the 200m final at the World Championships in Daegu tonight, I thought to myself, has there ever been a figure in sport such as Usain St. Leo Bolt?

After his DQ in the 100m final, people were saying he should change his relaxed attitude and take it down a notch.

To those people I say, do you really not enjoy a sportsperson with showmanship and charisma in spades who performs head and shoulders above the rest with such ease and power? Honestly, who gives a bro-fist to the clothes girl at the start line?

That is why Usain Bolt is like no other sportsman there has ever been, and probably will never be.

His power is unmatched, and in a business sense, his marketing power is unmatched. He brings a childish innocence to a sport where every other competitor is ‘in the zone’ and focused to the point where they are almost robotic.

What do you think of when you think of Usain Bolt?

I think of a totally unique athlete and person who is so different to everyone else in his chosen sport that he makes an even more amazing sport such as athletics more watchable.

Although, I do feel for those poor photographers at the finish line, being forced to chase the man up and down the track to get a picture.
