Furious Ponting accuses opponents of bizarre IPL rules breach... is completely wrong

Ricky Ponting isn’t expecting a return to the Test captaincy if Michael Clarke’s injury problems rule him out of any of the West Indies series.
Ponting replaced Clarke as captain of the one-day side for two matches of the recently completed tri-series with regular vice-captain Shane Watson unavailable.
Clarke’s hamstring injury has ruled him out of the Caribbean one-day series, which takes place before the Tests get underway in Barbados on April 7.
“I stepped away for a reason and I don’t think they’d go back there,” Ponting said after making a hundred for Tasmania in the Sheffield Shield match against Western Australia on Friday.
“Shane Watson’s stepped up and obviously won a one-day final last night.
“I think that’s the way they’d go.
“The only reason I probably captained those one-day games when I did was because Shane was out of the side.
“We’ll wait and see what happens but I would imagine that Pup (Clarke) would be right for the Test matches in the Caribbean anyway.”
Clarke’s injury is worse than first thought but medical staff are hopeful he will be right for the three-Test series.
Ponting stepped down as skipper of the Test and one-day sides in March last year.
