Aussie flanker Smith joins Stade Francais

    Australian flanker George Smith will join Stade Francais until the end of the season the French Top 14 club has announced.

    Smith, fresh from winning the Japanese championship with the Suntory Sungoliaths is being brought in as medical cover for Lei Tomiki and is scheduled to arrive in Paris on Wednesday.

    Former Wallaby Smith, 31, already knows the French rugby elite having played for Toulon during the 2010/2011 season before leaving for Japan.
