After last week’s last-minute loss to the Chiefs, the Brumbies will be looking to put in a strong performance in front of their fans when they host the Highlanders tonight. We’ll have live scores from the kick-off at 7.35pm AEDT.

They might have come home with one mere point, but the Brumbies gave a good account of themselves in New Zealand last week when many expected them to cop a hiding.

Tonight will be another stiff challenge for Jake White’s men though, with the unbeaten Highlanders riding into town.

While the Highlanders haven’t been out of New Zealand yet they’ve been committed and consistent each time they’ve stepped onto the field and have ground out results, winning their four matches by a remarkable cumulative margin of 10 points.

Their relatively conservative style might play into the hands of the Brumbies tonight, who themselves are no strangers to a tight and tough contest, winning their first two matches by one and two points respectively.

The Brumbies come into this one relatively unchanged with Sam Carter coming into the forwards in place of Scott Fardy, who drops to the bench. For the Highlanders, John Hardie and Adam Thomson are both expected to miss with injury.

The Highlanders come into this game as favourites and judging by the scalps they’ve picked up in the first four rounds of the Super Rugby season, they’ll probably justify that favourites tag with a win here.

Can the Brumbies cause an upset, or are Jamie Joseph’s Highlanders the real deal in 2012? It’s Saturday night Super Rugby from the nation’s capital. We’ll have live scores as they unfold from 7.35pm AEDT so if you’re watching, give us a shout in the space below.
