After struggling to put together three or four correct tips since the start of the season, last week was the turning week point, chalking up just the one loss thanks to a resurgent Parramatta.

So whether you’re a diehard rugby league fan, or simply someone looking to move their way up the tipping leaderboard, here are the previews for the remainder of the games this weekend.

Gold Coast Titans versus Sydney Roosters
After tipping the Roosters to destroy the Warriors and then watching them do exactly that, they now take on a Gold Coast side simply desperate for a win.

The Titans nearly beat the Dogs last week, and at home, could pull something together here against a side that struggles to win back-to-back wins. Scott Prince loves playing at home and will lead the Titans back in to the winners circle.

Cronulla Sharks versus St George-Illawarra Dragons

Cronulla have been a revelation so far this season, and if not for a one-point loss to the Tigers, would have gone undefeated this season. The Dragons are proving that they are not as good as they have been in years gone past, and while many expect the Sharks to trip up soon, as long as Paul Gallen’s playing, they’ll walk away with the points in this one.

Canberra Raiders versus New Zealand Warriors

Two teams that were simply outclassed last week meet in Canberra for a match that could provide the upset of the round. The Warriors haven’t won in Canberra since 1997, and do struggle away from home at times. Meanwhile, the Raiders won’t want to disappoint the home fans two weeks in a row, and seem to find an extra gear at home.

Canberra have been decimated by injury, making it all the more unlikely, but something says they may give this one a real good shot and sneak home with the win.

Newcastle Knights versus Parramatta Eels
Kurt Gidley’s omission for the home side is a huge blow, but at home, the Knights will be far too strong for a Parramatta side that hasn’t shown anything but a one-off win all year.

Winning at home is far different from wining in Newcastle; a place where they’ve scored only two tries in their past two matches. The Knights showed promise against the Storm last week, and given the home field advantage and a rowdy crowd, should be too good here.

North Queensland Cowboys versus Melbourne Storm

It was this time last year that the undefeated Storm travelled to the nation’s north and were given a real touch-up from an on-fire Cowboys side. And after demolishing Canberra in Canberra, the Cows could do exactly the same in this one here.

Jonathon Thurston plays his 150th game for the club, and at home, could turn in an inspired performance for the Origin selectors. It’s a little crazy, but I think they’re almost certain to win, though Melbourne’s class will keep it close.

Manly Sea Eagles versus Penrith Panthers
Monday night at Brookvale Oval is a scary place to be, but especially when you’re up against a Manly side that’s lost three in a row. They will be out to prove they are still finals candidates for 2012, and with Jamie Lyon returning, the home side will bounce back in fine form against a Penrith side that could be in for a long year.
