In the main event of UFC on Fuel TV 3, top 10 featherweight Chan Sung Jung aka ‘The Korean Zombie’ put Featherweight title contender Dustin Poirier to sleep at 1:07 of round 4 with a D’Arce choke.

The exciting fight had been scored to Korean Zombie before he ended it with a well-executed choke.

“I want to thank all the Korean fans that came out to support me,” said Jung. “He had me in trouble early in round 3. I want to fight Jose Aldo next.”

Fight recap: Jung caught an early kick by Poirier in round 1, looked for the takedown and worked some short punches on the inside in a clinch.

After a reversal from the clinch, ‘The Korean Zombie’ secured the first takedown and landed straight into side control. before moving to half mount opening up a cut on Poirier with elbows. Poirier swept and reversed the position and looked for the transition to the back of Jung, but ‘The Korean Zombie’ worked his way back to his feet and after trading strikes, Poirier shot in for a late takedown.

Jung again move into mount on the mat early in the second frame and worked the ground and pound on Poirier before both fighters returned to their feet and Jung landed a huge flying knee followed with knees from the clinch. Poirier shot in for a double leg takedown but ‘The Korean Zombie’ reversed the position and went to work with his elbows and ground and pound.

Jung went for the triangle before taking the arm of Poirier who moved into full guard on Jung who locked in a tight triangle in the final 20 seconds but Poirier was able to refrain from tapping out and lasted to round 3.

Poirier pressed forward in round 3 but was unable to find his range and began to slow down. Jung again brought it down to the mat but a reverseal by Poirier saw both return to their feet and the two weary fighters traded shots for the remainder of the round. With neither of their previous fights going deep into the UFC’s round four and five, both looked very tired.

Poirier was hurt by a right uppercut a minute into the 4th round which The Korean Zombie followed with a left hook. With the fight back on the mat Jung locked in his D’Arce choke and put Poirier to sleep.

The win ensures Jung is undefeated since joining the UFC with two submission victories and KO from three fights, while Poirier’s healthy five fight winning streak came to an end with the loss.
