Can the Rabbitohs (6th) continue on their merry way or will the Raiders fire up without superstars Terry Campese and Josh Dugan?
The Raiders’ (12th) season continues to nosedive with Blake Ferguson and Dugan dropped for the round twelve clash with Souths due to off field incidents. Just what coach David Furner didn’t need.
Reece Robinson goes back to fullback and Queensland rookie Edrick Lee makes his debut on Ferguson’s wing.
Canberra are already without captain Campese and there will be plenty of pressure on young halves Josh McCrone and Sam Williams.
The Green Machine have a wonderful forward pack and will compete with the South Sydney big men, but it’s the young backs that might just have the problems.
Souths number 7 Adam Reynolds has been a revelation at Redfern and his combination with John Sutton is really starting to worry opposition teams. Expect Reynolds to be on a high after securing a golden point victory over the Saints last weekend.
Sam Burgess return from injury has been a blessing for the Rabbitohs and his leadership through the middle will be vital tonight.
You sense that the Raiders are coming to town with nothing to lose and wont die wondering. But can Canberra do enough to topple the Rabbitohs? Expect plenty of points and a Rabbitohs win.

The Canberra Raiders came to ANZ Stadium tonight hoping to cause an upset over the highly fancied Rabbitohs. Unfortunetely for the Raiders they simply didnt aim up against a Souths side that included Inglis, Taylor and Burgess.
No Dugan and no Campese is no excuse for David Furner’s men who somehow only trailed by two at the break. Souths done enough in the second half to take the points and move on.
That could have quite possibly been Inglis’ greatest ever club performance as the fullback was in everything and dominated from the 1st minute to the 80th. Fulltime at ANZ Stadium, the Rabbitohs had pummelled the hapless Raiders, 36-18.

Hopefully the nrl eventually wake up to themselves and get rid of channel 9s pathetic efforts at coverage. Commentators are fine, it’s the second rate delivery, missing first 5 minutes of bunnies game, being told that the bunnies won before the game was televised in Queensland. They dictate what games get played and seem more preoccupied with that than delivering a quality coverage.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs players clearly thought this was going to be a cakewalk tonight and now they have a real fight on their hands. The Raiders came to ANZ Stadium willing to throw the ball around, that was always going to happen. Souths on the other hand have plenty riding on this game, but were expected to handle Canberra.
Unfortunetely for Rabbitohs fans, their side refuse to tackle and have brought the Raiders right back into this game. Sutton and Inglis looked disturbingly good early and probably expected to be leading at 30 at the break. Not the case, the Raiders trail by two.

First want to send a big cherrio out to the Burgess boys, Sammy and Luke, both wonderful additions to the NRl, good luck tonight.
I heard about Josh Dugan, look mate, your a origin player, you need to grow up fast or the game will leave you behind mate.
I watched last years first origin game, i thought Dugan was well up to origin level, and this game was at Suncorp. wakey wakey Josh, dont be a goose mate. I read the Freaks blog, he seems to have summed it up well.
