Week 14 action will see the 10th-placed Melbourne Rebels try and take their current winning streak to three games on the trot when they travel to the Windy City to face Wellington Hurricanes. Join us for live scores and commentary from 3.30pm AEST.
After last weekend’s thrilling one-point victory over the Western Force in Perth, the Rebels will hoping to score a win against the ninth-placed Hurricanes at Westpac Stadium in Wellington.
The newest Aussie franchise looked deadly with Kurtley Beale once again showing his talent in the number 10 jersey, providing them with the difference over a hard-working Force side.
The Hurricanes are coming off a loss at home to Jake White’s stampeding Brumbies and have been searching desperately for consistency.
The likes of young guns Andre Taylor and Julian Savea have been in scintillating form this season but the Hurricanes have struggled to find rhythm as a unit, and have lost as many games as they have won.
These two sides have only met once before, when the Rebels produced a surprise win to score 42 points to the Hurricanes’ 25 on that occasion.
While neither side has any real hope of challenging for the finals both are capable of enterprising rugby on their day and if they are on song, this one could ignite.
Can the Rebels continue a late-season surge as they build toward the 2013 season? Find out as we cover the action with live scores and commentary from 3.30pm AEST and if you’re watching, give us your thoughts in the space below.

… And this further supports my week on week argument that the Australian conference isn’t weak and that… Oh hang on a minute…. damn…
Guess we got Mr Hyde this week… Chin up Rebels.

Well as a Kiwi watching that game there is some massive excitement heading our way in the years to come. Perenara Barrett Savea Taylor could very well be in the starting lineup in the first game of our World cup defence.
The attacking ability of these kids is awesome. After this initial Ireland series, i think it will be almost impossible for Hansen and co to play the exp card when making selections, especially in the back-line. Piri Weepu better ring Titch for a few extra sessions otherwise he will be played out of his All Black jersey by a 19 year old kid.

Should be 66-24 final score. Rebels defence horrible today. Where was the crisp in your face defence they had against the Crusaders

Went over the top with the league line of defence, didn’t commit or contest or build pressure at the breakdown, consequently they were always on the back foot and got carved up. When the Rebs did some pick and driving in the last 20 minutes and started contesting the breakdown it was still pretty inept, but not the complete walkover the first 60 minutes had been.
Heh love a man who tells us about his winning bets, after the outcome. Can you give us your punts for the rest of the weekend KD?

Got $50 on the Blues tonight at $2.70 and taking either side 7 or less in the Brumbies Reds game at $2.25. Lost last night. Took total game score over 50.5 and 50 were scored.

Rebels have taken Muggleton’s league defence to the extreme and aren’t contesting many rucks. Result is Canes getting plenty of front foot, uncontested ball and cutting them to ribbons. Some lovely play from the Canes and a pleasure to watch. Some of those Rebels exposed as not being of adequate standard for Super Rugby.

Yes, NZ, you are perfectly right to keep Andre Taylor out of the All Blacks. Yes, give him more time. Top try scorer but he needs to mature. Don’t pick him yet. His time will come.
(Psst, Andre. Have you got an Aussie granny in your family tree? Like to live somewhere warmer than Wellington?)
4:44pm
maxikh said | 4:44pm | Report comment
haha, lets hope he does, seems a bizarre decision to leave him out, personally I would have allowed savea to mature who is 3 years younger than Taylor!

RebelRanger said | 5:14pm | Report comment
Really speaks of the depth in backs that NZ can exclude someone with Andres talents. This does not mean I agree with Hansen or his selectors.
Geez I wonder if we could somehow swap the passports of Savea and Vuna. Salivating at the idea of Savea running onto a Beale inside pass.
5:19pm
Kuruki said | 5:19pm | Report comment
Taylor will get his chance. But how do you put him in ahead of a guy who has shown form for the past few years waiting for a shot. Ben Smith who can play anywhere from 12 -15.
4:14pm
Justin2 said | 4:14pm | Report comment
Why does Vuna, who can do extraordinary things with the ball in hand, just have no idea how to defend? He is so far in off his wing, so often, he just leaves acres of space for the attack to target.
Rebels getting smacked up front and getting nothing from the tight 5 in defence especially. Henderson is a liability in defence ad a few others arent far behind.
The canes are running hard and playing great football and are a side that once the confidence is up will just continue to have a crack.
4:24pm
Harry said | 4:24pm | Report comment
Dangerous runner Vuna but every time he’s been bought to ground he’s turned the ball over, and really poor in defence.
