After an embarrassing fourth quarter fadeout last week, North Melbourne will look to return to the winners list against the Brisbane Lions. We’ll have live scores from 1.10pm AEST.
A loss to Port Adelaide was the last thing the Roos needed last weekend, but when they weren’t able to finish the Power off, momentum quickly swung.
North were two-point losers, with Drew Petrie’s five goals being the club’s standout individual performance.
They now risk dropping out of top eight contention, sitting in 12th place with only three wins to their name.
Brisbane had a confidence-boosting win last week, demolishing the GWS Giants by 92 points.
Daniel Merrett was the talking point due to his seven-goal haul, five of which came in the first quarter.
The Lions are 14th on the ladder and have three wins to their name. That’s only one win short of their tally from last season.
Ben Warren, Cameron Pederson and Brad McKenzie are North’s omissions following last week’s disaster. Aaron Edwards is the biggest inclusion.
Petrie’s 17 goals puts him as the club’s leading goal kicker this season. Andrew Swallow leads the possession count.
Aaron Cornelius and debutant Elliot Yeo come in for Brisbane.
Merrett has been the leading goal scorer for them with 14. Tom Rockliff has won the footy the most often.

Boomer was good. Black was an important extra target up forward to break down the Petrie-focus.
Goldstein back in town. Does McIntosh come straight back??
However, North weren’t playing that well in the first half – missing too many handballs – but, had time to recover where as a decent side would’ve forced a turn over.
Sam Wright made enough blunders and fumbles that had he truly been ‘ON’ he’d've got 7-8 goals. He got 4 but really wasn’t playing that well.
So, Brisbane finally switched on in the 2nd half, kicked 10 goals to 4, and North didn’t look up to it.
So, I come away entirely unconvinced – but, happy with the $20 members special on the club polo shirts.
oh, that and Luke Delaney up back is looking better and better as a pseudo gorilla.
