Watch The Roar’s video interview with Clyde Rathbone – the former Wallaby says there will be no issues of complacency for Australia’s debutants in the Scotland and Wales Tests.
Rathbone believes it will be the opposite and has Australia as strong favourites despite Wales’ Six Nations triumph.
“I think it will be an interesting series,” he says. “The best 22 Australia can pick can beat anyone on their day.”
Rathbone backed Will Genia as a future Wallaby captain and complimented coach Robbie Deans for the number of young players he has blooded into the national set-up.
Rathbone, who played 26 Tests for Australia, spoke to The Roar ahead of the Scotland game in Newcastle. He says it makes sense for Ewen McKenzie to succeed Deans as Wallabies coach and lauded the standard of this year’s Super Rugby season.
Rathbone says he has been surprised by the success of his old team, the Brumbies, and gave his view on the impact that Jake White has had.

It’s what we like to hear…
Yes, interesting view, ‘the best Super comp ever,’ and the Brumbies are doing better than expected in first year with White at the helm. True on both counts.
Good interview guys, thanks! And look forward to the next one as well – Go the Wallabies!!!
