Queensland have suffered a major blow in the lead-up to State of Origin II with back-rower Sam Thaiday ruled out with a shoulder injury.
The Brisbane skipper left the team’s camp on Friday morning after the injury he suffered in last Sunday’s win over Newcastle failed to respond to treatment.
“We felt that it was in the best interests of Sam and the team to rule him out today,” team doctor Roy Saunders said.
Thaiday’s Broncos teammate and 18th man Corey Parker will now come into 17, though it is not yet clear who will start the game.

You never like to see a player pull out through injury. Parker to the bench and Taylor to start I would imagine.

Even if he has to jump the fence, Sammy will still be third man in.

Parker will start as he is good when fresh while Dave Taylor is the best man to come from the bench with his damaging runs and unexpected grubbers that can make something out from nothing…save the best for the last.
