Maroons’ Thaiday out of Origin II
Queensland have suffered a major blow in the lead-up to State of Origin II with back-rower Sam Thaiday ruled out with a shoulder injury.
The Brisbane skipper left the team’s camp on Friday morning after the injury he suffered in last Sunday’s win over Newcastle failed to respond to treatment.
“We felt that it was in the best interests of Sam and the team to rule him out today,” team doctor Roy Saunders said.
Thaiday’s Broncos teammate and 18th man Corey Parker will now come into 17, though it is not yet clear who will start the game.© AAP 2013
