Join us as we bring you live scores of the French Open Mens Final, as Rafael Nadal takes on Novak Djokovic after a long and testing tournament with the victor earning a distinguished place in tennis history.

**UPDATE**: Rain has stopped play during the final and finally the match is halted and will be resumed on Monday. The schedule of play is 1pm local time, weather permitting, or 9pm AEST.

Novak Djokovic is striving to become the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to win four consecutive major championships while Rafael Nadal has the opportunity to overtake Bjorn Borg by claiming an amazing 7th French Open title.

The road to the final for Djokovic has been a tough one. He twice got out of jail in five set marathons against Andreas Seppi and Jean Wilfred Tsonga, however these challenges seem to have played him into form as he came back to breeze through the great, albeit out of form, Roger Federer in the semis.

In contrast to this Nadal has been his usual masterful self on the clay surface and is looking invincible having not dropped a set all tournament.

Djokovic has reigned supreme in the pair’s last three finals bouts but the clay courts of Roland Garros are a completely different kettle of fish to the other major tournaments.

In a game as tight as this, with both players capable of incredible shots, the winner will be the man who manages to be more consistently brilliant.

Djokovic’s tendency towards sulking through short periods of matches could count against him as well as the added fatigue sustained by more hours on the court. However Nadal’s lack of a genuine challenge could also work against the Spaniardin the pressure cooker of a grand final.

One thing is for sure and that is that his is not a match to be missed. Whatever the final result, history will be made and a great spectacle will be enjoyed by all. Let’s just hope the rain stays away!
