The Parramatta Eels host the Newcastle Knights at Parramatta Stadium in Round 17 NRL action on a modified Super Saturday. Join us for live NRL scores and commentary from 7pm AEST.

Parramatta (16th) returned to the winners circle last weekend with a dramatic 19-18 golden point victory over their neighbours, the Penrith Panthers. The Eels done it the hard way coming from behind to steal the win at Centrebet Stadium.

Can the Eels do it this week without superstar fullback Jarryd Hayne? Veteran Luke Burt shifts to the back, Ryan Morgan to the wing allowing the return of another star in Willie Tonga.

Inspirational skipper Nathan Hindmarsh turned the clock back last week with a gargantuan performance and will need to lead these young Eels from the front again if they are to beat the Newcastle Knights.

The Knights (13th) also returned to some kind of form last weekend with a dominant display against Wests Tigers on Monday night Football. Newcastle’s real test will come tonight against a team below them on the table.

Timana Tahu scored a hat-trick against the Tigers and returns to Parramatta Stadium brimming with confidence. The game wont depend on Tahu though, as the Knights must dominant the ruck once again to win this match.

Willie Mason has been a revelation and was one of Newcastle’s best against a poor Tigers team. Mason repeatedly busted the Tigers with a number of barnstorming runs. His angled runs back across the ruck and finding out lazy defenders is becoming a dangerous play for opposition sides. Parramatta will need to be on their toes if Mason begins on his angled charges.

These two forward packs have been much maligned in 2012 and both engine rooms will be desperate to dominate the middle third. Expect plenty of fireworks from plenty of men with something to prove.

Chris Sandow and Jarrod Mullen are the x-factors though. Both have had poor seasons to date and both will need to step up with their respective fullbacks out (Hayne and Darius Boyd).

Expect another gripping edition of Saturday night Football and perhaps even golden point?
