The third one-day international between England and Australia at Edgbaston has been abandoned because of rain without a ball bowled.
The umpires inspected the ground regularly on Wednesday but every time it seemed play would be possible another downpour arrived.
There was not enough time left to dry the ground sufficiently and still allow for the minimum of a 20 overs per side match.
England, 2-0 up in the five-match series, will no longer be able to go to number one in the one-day international world rankings ahead of Australia because they needed to win 5-0.

I have no doubt that we will win at least one of the remaining two games but still, great news the Poms can’t go to one in the world. GREAT NEWS

Yeah considering that the only reason it was possible was that Australia’s match against Ireland was washed out I’d say it’s a fair result.

Our best result of the series yet. The boys did us proud and Johnson performed at his best.

thanks for the laugh Brendon.
Was Johnson at his best playing cards in the dressing room, or do you think he put a martial arts demonstration on for some English gentry? Maybe he was playing a game on his iPad
