White? Good lord. At least Ferguson’s good Ryobi Cup form from last summer has been rewarded. Tom Cooper obviously needs to average 100 next season before they select him

Maxwell’s selection is rather baffling as well. Nothing about his Ryobi Cup career to date has been that impressive. Surely one day we might actually pick players for the one-day squad based on one-day form…..

White had a pretty decent IPL and he is only selected in the t20 squad.

They are picking Maxwell based on some T20 innings for Hampshire I’d say. I’m interested to see how he goes. He’s likely to be able to hit at the end of the innings better than Smith in a one day match as he likes a slog but I can’t see any of the newbies really getting hold of the Pakistan spin bowlers. If Ajmal and Afridi bowl together in either format it could get very, very messy for our batsmen.

Come on, many people were calling for Ferguson and Christian and here they are. So I think give the selectors some credit for replacing Forrest with an actual ODI player and giving Christian another shot.
Feels pretty empty without B Lee … Oh well.

I’m not sure Hilfenhaus is a short form bowler, much more suited to test matches. I guess he can bowl pretty tight.
Good to see Christian back. We need someone else in the Nathen Bracken mould. Never knew why he fell out of favour. Or did he get injured and retire?
Welcome return for Mr Cricket too
I would rather see them blood a youngster then give Cameron White another shot, but I guess the selectors have one eye on the 20-20 world cup.
Its definatly get’s no easier, Pakistan in UAE will be very tough.
