Footy returns to Darwin as strugglers Melbourne and Port Adelaide search for a win. We’ll have live scores from 7.40pm AEST.
The conditions in the Northern Territory have drawn criticism in recent times, with some claiming the venue shouldn’t be used for home and away season games.
It’ll prove a challenge for the Demons and Power as both sides look to build to their rather small win tallies.
While the Dees would only be able to bridge the gap between them and their opponents with a win — the two sides are 15th and 16th on the ladder — Port may be able to leapfrog the Western Bulldogs, assuming that side loses to Carlton tonight.
Melbourne last week hosted Fremantle and went down by 34 points.
Brad Green had three goals, Colin Sylvia and Jack Grimes had solid games, while young defender Tom McDonald was again superb.
Port Adelaide hosted Essendon but weren’t up for the challenge, going down by 50 points.
Justin Westhoff and Brett Ebert both had three goals for the Power, while the man at the centre of trade speculation, Travis Boak, was the leading midfielder with 29 disposals. Brad Ebert also had a strong all-round game.
Mark Jamar is among the four outs for Melbourne, while Dom Cassisi and Jasper Pittard come in for Port Adelaide.

We are worse than pathetic. If we improve we might become hopeless. I am so sick of supporting the most uncompetitive, incompetent team in the AFL. it won’t be long before the two new teams leave us far behind. If we were a business we would have been wound up long ago and we would just be an unhappy memory. The current list has not the slightest chance of delivering any success whatsoever which means another generation of “renewal”. Anyone game to bet that it will be much more successful than the last few attempts? it would be much kinder to long suffering supporters if the club just ceased to exist. Gillard has a better future than the MFC!

Feel for you, mate, but don’t worry these things can turn around in a surprising hurry.
Just bump off your scouts and recruiters and get new ones before its too late!

It’ll be a bitter day when the new expansion clubs with all their hand outs finish above some of the other clubs that have to just ride it out during the tough times.
