The GWS Giants will host one of the competition’s biggest drawcards in Collingwood. We’ll have live scores from 4.40pm AEST.

The Giants’ season has hit a bit of a wall, so a date with one of the premiership contenders is probably the last thing they need right now in terms of on-field performance.

As for the Pies, their pride has been dented by recent losses to Carlton and Hawthorn, so a confidence-boosting win might be exactly what their season needs.

The Pies do remain in the top four at 12-4, but their percentage of 115 is the lowest of the top six.

The Giants last week travelled to Perth to take on Fremantle in a game that looked certain to be a triple-figure loss early on.

The final margin was “just” 95 points as Toby Greene picked up 29 disposals and Tomas Bugg 27 with 11 marks. Luke Power was the best of the older brigade, while in the absence of Jeremy Cameron and Jonathon Patton, there were no multiple goal kickers up forward.

The club has lost nine in a row and only one of those games was decided by less than 65 points.

For Collingwood, last week’s 47-point loss to the Hawks would have to sting. It wasn’t because their guns went missing, however.

In a massive individual display, Dane Swan had a whopping 49 disposals. Scott Pendlebury and Dayne Beams had 34 touches each; the former with four goal assists, the latter with four goals. Steele Sidebottom had 29 touches and a goal.

The Giants have made six changes, while the Pies have made four. Cameron, Patton and Chad Cornes are the main ins for the Giants, while the key outs for the Pies include Sidebottom, Dale Thomas and Darren Jolly.
