Carlton will fancy their chances of an upset as the Sydney Swans visit Etihad Stadium. We’ll have live scores from 3.15pm AEST.
The Swans sit comfortably atop the AFL ladder and are in some very strong form.
Carlton, though, have claimed three of their last four matches and might just be sensing an opportunity to officially re-enter September calculations.
Etihad hasn’t been the Swans’ favourite venue this season, with their only two matches at the ground being a loss to St Kilda in Round 9 and a very narrow four-point win over Essendon in Round 11.
However, it’s now eight on the trot for the ladder-leaders, giving them an impressive 14-3 record.
For their opponents, 11th place is not a comfortable position to be in and their 9-8 record needs to be improved upon if finals are to happen.
The Blues last week won a thriller against Richmond, with the final margin just four points. Brock McLean was the hero with an unlikely match-winning goal.
Marc Murphy had 36 disposals, McLean had 27 with 11 tackles and Heath Scotland got 26 touches with a game-high six marks.
The Swans did what they had to do travelling to the Gold Coast, winning by 72 points.
Ryan O’Keefe and Josh Kennedy both surpassed 30 disposals, while Jude Bolton had a nice all-round game with 23 touches, seven marks, seven tackles and three goals. Lewis Roberts-Thomson led the goal scoring with four.
Shane Mumford returns for the Swans, although Sam Reid is out of the team. At Carlton, Kade Simpson, Jarrad Waite and Simon White are all in.
