They face in-form North Melbourne and a loss could put an end to the side’s September ambitions.
Hamstring injuries struck the Bombers yet again as Jason Winderlich, who had kicked four goals, was hit in the third quarter while Ben Howlett was substituted before halftime for what is understood to be a similar problem.
But Hocking said the side could be boosted with the imminent return of veteran backman Dustin Fletcher, Angus Monfries, Brent Stanton and Stewart Crameri.
He said the club did not yet know how long they would be without Winderlich following his injury.
“He’s got to go and get scans and see the extent of it but it’s disappointing for him,” Hocking said.

“It’s frustrating to get the injuries but we’re sticking together and all the coaching staff and fitness staff are all working hard to find out what’s going on.”
Hocking maintained the Bombers were now playing the sort of football which could upset the top sides.
“It’s a positive the way all the players came out and played a brand of footy that we are proud of and we think can stand up in finals football,” Hocking said.
“It’s a contested style of football and I guess the way we played was exciting. We know if we move that form forward, it’s going to be good for us.”
