With an eye on the top two, the Sydney Swans will not want to drop their game today against the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium. We’ll have live scores and live commentary from 3.15pm AEST.

The Swans had a very keen eye on last night’s football as they saw fellow premiership contenders Collingwood and Adelaide both stumble.

While this will give them a boost in confidence that knowing a win can consolidate top spot, they will also be very wary of being at their best as they come into a very tough stretch to finish the home and away season.

Finishing off against Hawthorn and Geelong will not be easy, so making sure they get the job this afternoon is essential.

Last week their nine match winning streak came to an end against Collingwood with some of their star players accepting they were below-par.

Adam Goodes, Jarrad McVeigh and Lewis Jetta amonst those and they have put their hand up already for it. It’s rare to see the likes of Goodes and McVeigh turn in two bad games back to back, so expect to see a big lift from them.

The Swans see the return of Sam Reid into their forward line after some time off with a knee injury.

The Western Bulldogs on the other hand have had a horror last two months. They’ve now lost eight-straight games and in all reality, doesn’t look like stopping any time soon.

In fact they’ve had some beltings – losing to the Tigers by 70 points last week meant that the average losing margin since their win in Round 12 has been around 10-goals!

They can blame fitness to an extent as the second half performances have been woeful. Sure you can put it down to playing the youth as the season comes to an end, but the senior players have failed to stand up.

Today, they’ll need the likes of Matthew Boyd, Ryan Griffen, Bob Murphy and Daniel Giansiracusa to put in a big effort to slow down the Swans.

Whether that’s even possible is unlikely, playing at a venue like Etihad Stadium which is known for more free-flowing play under the roof.

Expect Sydney to win and win well. But, if the last 24 hours is anything to go by, it’s that nothing is certain in AFL… especially in the run to the finals.
